The Purpose of Lion Advocacy

The mission of Lion Advocacy, including this website, my Youtube channel, and my twitter handle, @LionAdvocacy, is to discuss my personal views on important legal, ethical, and human rights issues facing Canada and the world today - inspired primarily by the cascading effects of vaccine mandates on Canadian society.

The goal is to promote healthy debate and raise awareness about best practices with regards to, among other things, vaccine rollouts. As my advocacy has evolved, I have discovered troublesome systemic issues that go to the heart of democratic life in Canada and the freedoms I had taken for granted.

Although I'm a lawyer (learn more at LionLaw.ca), I'm also a concerned citizen, father of four, inchoate CAF logistics/intelligence officer (e.g. never made it), GCT Tactical-trained use of force, one-time Second City standup comic, parkour enthusiast, major fan of the outdoors, self-declared master puppeteer, community EMS volunteers, and community safety volunteer (with a special interest in search and rescue).

I'm hoping to use this channel to do a bunch of things... primarily to make change, one small step at a time, with coherent legal thinking, compassion, and a bit of humor.

One day I hope to monetize my channel by, among other things, promoting businesses that have effective responsible vaccine rollouts, made amends for mistakes, and/or committed to making positive change. Also, I would one day like to sell merchandise that have registered trademarks designed to troll the Trademark Office.

Again, this channel does not offer legal advice. Communications to or from anything "Lion Advocacy"-related should not be deemed solicitor-client privilege or legal advice. Of course, I commit to keeping everything confidential. But if you want to secure a different, *solicitor-client* relationship, the best way to do this is via LionLaw.ca

Twitter (X) Philosophy

Despite posting on very contentious topics, I receive remarkably very few hate comments. I believe this is because I treat everyone with a great deal of respect - even folks with whom I vehemently disagree. After all, as I like to say, the same Great Force that created the moon, the sun, and the stars, also created each and every individual here on planet earth.

Sometimes, my posts garner very angry comments about politicians and policy-makers. This is understandable, given that some of the wrongdoing and violence that has been unleashed on the Canadian public these past few years has been unprecedented.  That being said, threats of physical harm to anyone are usually reported and/or blocked. Comments that reference a desire to incarcerate people are not in of themselves illegal and do not violate any X policies, and so while such comments are upsetting, I usually don't respond to those comments. But I do feel it's important to discuss head-on any criminality that may have been committed by anyone, regardless of what public office they may have held.
